Wakto Terms of Service
In short: use Wakto fairly, your data stays yours, the free plan shows ads, ad removal is sold through Paddle, and the service is provided "as is".

1. Acceptance
These terms are an agreement between you and [OPERATOR NAME AND ADDRESS] ("Wakto", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the landing page, the web app or the Android app, you accept them. If you use Wakto for a business, you accept them on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to. If you do not agree, please do not use Wakto.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
2. The service
Wakto is a time-tracking and timesheet tool for freelancers and agencies who bill by the hour. You can run timers, add time manually, organise work by client, project and tag, set hourly rates, see reports and export your time entries as CSV.
Wakto helps you keep records. It does not send invoices for you, and it is not accounting, tax or legal advice. You are responsible for checking your timesheets and invoices before you use them.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Give a valid email address and keep your details accurate.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- One person per account. Do not share logins.
4. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Wakto to break the law or anyone else's rights;
- try to access other users' data, or probe, scan or attack our systems;
- overload the service, get around rate limits, or use bots to scrape it;
- upload malware or harmful code;
- copy, resell or rebuild Wakto from our code or design;
- store content that is illegal, or sensitive personal data about others without a lawful basis.
We may limit or suspend access if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken.
5. Your content and data
Everything you enter (clients, projects, tags, time entries, descriptions and rates) belongs to you. You give us only the permission we need to store, process and show it back to you so the service works.
You can export your time entries as CSV at any time. You can delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes your account and all the data it owns. We cannot recover it afterwards, so export first if you need a copy.
You are responsible for the data you enter, including any personal data about your clients, and for having the right to enter it.
6. Payments and refunds
Wakto is free to use. You can pay to remove ads with "Buy me a coffee": the monthly subscription or the one-time purchase that removes ads.
- Paddle is our reseller. Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, sales tax, VAT and invoices, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to your purchase: https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms
- Prices are shown in your local currency where available, before you pay. We may change prices for future purchases; changes do not affect what you already paid for.
- Monthly subscription. Renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time. Ads stay removed until the end of the period you paid for, and then return.
- One-time purchase. A single payment that removes ads for as long as your account and the service exist.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Paddle under its refund policy. We do not promise refunds beyond what Paddle's policy and your local consumer law provide.
- Deleting your account cancels an active subscription. It does not by itself refund past payments.
- Where you pay. Payments are made only in the web app. The Android app does not take payments; it links to the web app.
7. The free plan and ads
The free plan includes the full time-tracking features and shows ads. In the web app they come from Google AdSense, and in the Android app from Google AdMob. Ad removal (section 6) turns them off for your account. We choose ad placements to keep Wakto calm, but we do not control the content of each ad.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Wakto running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.
We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you paid for, we will tell you in advance. If we decide to shut Wakto down, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your data.
9. Disclaimers
Wakto is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that the service will meet your particular needs, or that reports, totals, rounding or exchange-rate conversions will be free of errors. Exchange rates come from a public source and are for guidance only.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or unbilled time;
- our total liability for any claim about Wakto is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Termination
You can stop using Wakto and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Unless it is urgent or unlawful to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.
Sections 5, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply after your account ends.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION]. Disputes go to the courts of [COURTS LOCATION], unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Wakto after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
